The Installation and Community Service Awards Dinner is a fun-filled evening as the Chamber recognizes those deserving individuals, groups and businesses who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in business, volunteer activities and achievement within the Ceres community. The Community Service Awards began in 1969 to recognize good people doing great things in the community. The public is invited to attend this event, beginning with a no-host bar, dinner, silent auction followed by the awards presentations and entertainment. This event also includes the changing of the guard where the new President of the Board and Board of Directors are introduced. The Chamber's priorities for the upcoming year and recognition of its many outstanding volunteer leaders are announced.
Ceres Street Faire is a 30-year-long tradition for the Ceres community. This 2-day annual event was created as a partnership from the Ceres Chamber of Commerce and the Ceres Lions Club to raise money to fund various community projects. This annual faire is held the first weekend in May, rain or shine, and features a Car & Truck Show, live entertainment and exhibitions, food and drink booths, crafts and collectibles vendors, and fun for the entire family.
Agribusiness Luncheon is the venue to recognize Agribusiness Man of the Year, Agribusiness Woman of the Year and students from Central Valley and Ceres High Schools who have devoted time in FFA or other agricultural-related programs. The Ceres Chamber recognizes these students with financial scholarships, for their work in all areas of agricultural studies, including their help in transforming a 6.5-acre site donated by the Ceres Unified School District into the Ceres Agriculture Center. Students working at the Ag Center are in charge of planting, tending and harvesting row crops, fruits and vegetables for the district's Child Nutrition school lunch program.
Ceres Bands, Brews & BBQ Throwdown is the community's largest Backyard BBQ held in Downtown Ceres. This family-fun event is an officially sanctioned "Backyard/Amateur" event of the Kansas City Barbecue Society. Contestants from all over California venture out to compete for money and trophies, bands provide music throughout the day and a wine and craft beer garden help quench your thirst.
